I have been farting about with my ‘53 +4 since 2006 and today I have ticked off the last issue on the list and I can unveil my Morgan ‘S’ model The Moggy is much more user friendly to this now 81 year old Morganeer as I have completed every part of the rebuild myself which included a complete engine rebuild to T.R 4. specs while retaining the original engine, substituted the old Moss box with a very English Sierra 5 speed with light diaphragm hydraulic clutch which is delightful and fast. Chassis and body frame has had a make over and panels remade by hand where necessary, bare metal respray (17 coats) of acrylic lacquer applied (secret tint) while most chrome bits were remade before chroming including all knobs and door handles were made from scratch. All the dashboard is original apart from the glove box lid which was suggested by a higher power and was carried out and while all instruments and gauges needed quite a bit of breathing on and the only addition is a 80 mm electronic taco which blends in with the era. Springtime in Tasmania and my backside in the Mog. Life’s good!! Smed, Tasmania. |
